Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a nonprofit organization with the purpose of raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Founded by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who battled cancer herself, the organization carries on her legacy by encouraging people of all ages to host lemonade stands and other fundraising events to support research into finding cures and better treatments for childhood cancer.
The foundation’s ultimate goal is to bring hope to children and families affected by this devastating disease and to work towards a future where no child has to suffer from cancer.
The Jackson Call Foundation is established in memory of Jackson, a young boy tragically killed by a drunk/drugged driver in April 2021. In honor of Jackson’s love for his community and the support his family received during their difficult time, the foundation’s mission is to give back through scholarships, education, and various initiatives aimed at benefiting children and young adults.
With a dedicated Board of Directors, the foundation is committed to upholding Jackson’s spirit of kindness and paying it forward to the community that meant so much to him. By supporting this foundation, individuals can contribute to a meaningful legacy that honors Jackson’s love for people, sports, family, and the community.
Oral Cancer Awareness Month, observed annually in April, serves as a vital campaign to raise awareness about the risks, early detection, and prevention of oral cancer. The primary purpose of this month-long initiative is to educate the public about the importance of regular oral cancer screenings, lifestyle choices that can reduce the risk of developing oral cancers (such as avoiding tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption), and the signs and symptoms to watch for.
By promoting awareness and early detection, Oral Cancer Awareness Month aims to save lives and improve the overall health outcomes for individuals at risk of oral cancer.
The purpose of Toys for Tots, a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, is to bring holiday joy to less fortunate children in communities across the country.
Each year, during the holiday season, Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to children in need. The program’s mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience the joy of receiving a gift during the holidays, regardless of their family’s financial situation. By spreading happiness and fostering a sense of community giving, Toys for Tots aims to make the holiday season brighter for children and their families.
